Description
The Columbia Judicial Circuit Felony Accountability Court (Drug Court, Mental Wellness Court and Veterans Court) Program (hereinafter ¿CJC Accountability Court¿), is designed to coordinate substance abuse intervention with judicial oversight through enhanced supervision and individual accountability. This Court was designed to develop a successful three (3) track intervention model to 1) assist and rehabilitate substance abusing offenders, who are suffering from alcohol and drug addiction, 2) assist and rehabilitate offenders with a documented mental health diagnosis and 3) assist and rehabilitate Veterans with substance use and/or mental health disorders, all of whom are charged with a felony within Columbia County.
The Mission of the Columbia Judicial Circuit Accountability Court Program is to confront substance abuse issues and/or mental health challenges underlying the repetitive pattern of substance abuse and mental illness to reduce recidivism through enhanced supervision, treatment, and individual accountability.
