DHS collaborates with non-profit partners to provide temporary shelter and services that homeless New Yorkers need to achieve and maintain housing permanency. DHS collaborates with non-profit partners to provide temporary shelter and services that homeless New Yorkers need to achieve and maintain housing permanency. The goals and objectives of these shelters are to provide transitional housing for Adult Families without other housing options, as well as services that help secure viable housing in the community and maintain independent living arrangements. These shelters shall provide structure and an atmosphere which facilitates assessment of the families' needs, the provision of case management and other social services, referrals to appropriate community based services and assistance in securing alternative housing. The goal of this RFP is to procure high-quality, borough-based shelters for homeless Adult Families that will enable these families to quickly obtain permanent housing within the community. Additionally, the City also seeks proposals for the Overnight Facility Program, pursuant to which contractors supply lodging to homeless Adult Families who apply for shelter at an intake facility during the hours of 10:00pm and 10:00am, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.<br><br><u><strong>Proposed Term of the Contract(s)</strong></u><br>The term of the contract(s) will be five (5) years with a four (4) year option to renew. DHS reserves the right to adjust the contract term. Longer length engagements may be contracted to correspond with the underlying lease or funding agreement. <br><br><u><strong>Procurement Timeline</strong></u><br>This is an open-ended RFP.
